Kat Dennings was born on June 13, 1986, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and was given the name Katherine Victoria Litwack. Ellen Dennings is her mom. Ellen worked as a speech therapy and poetry Therapist. Gerald Dennings works as a molecular druggist and professor at a university. Dennings was raised as one of one of the youngest children in an orthodox Jewish home. Dennings was homeschooled and only briefly enrolled in a traditional school. Because she was trying to pursue acting from a young age, the homeschool arrangement made the most sense since she could complete high school by the age of 14. In the age of 9she began doing commercials. When she graduated from high school, she and her family moved to Los Angeles in order to explore acting. Kat Dennings was her name at the time she started to audition. Kat Dennings, who had relocated to LA from LA to LA in 2000 made her debut appearance on an HBO series called "Sex and the City". After that, Dennings starred in WB's sitcom "Sex and the City".
